Belgrade

APC – Asylum protection centre (http://www.apc-cza.org/) – has offered free legal advice to asylum seekers since the creation of the Serbian asylum system in 2008. They also provide programs of psycho-social assistance to asylum seekers. If the police refuses to give you the 72-hours-paper (potvrda o izrazenoj nameri za trazenje azila: expression of an intention to seek asylum) you can contact them, go to their office, express this intention there and you’ll get a statement of them with which the police shouldn’t refuse to give you this paper. The Asylum Protection Centre might be contacted as well when you entered Serbia by plane and get hold back in the airport or when you need a general support about work permit, social services, adult schools etc.

Furthermore they summarized most of the information and important contacts in an application you can download here.

Refugee Aid Miksalište (https://de-de.facebook.com/RefugeeAidMiksaliste/)
It’s a place where a lot of non-governmental organizations are working in. For example Save the Children, UNHCR and some further more.
Besides providing information and the different working groups it’s also a place to meet up and for new arrivals during night, just families and minors, a place to pass the first night in it. It’s open 24/7.
The commissariat is allowing or denying people access to the Miksaliste, which means that the entry to it can be quite arbitrary. As well it happened so far that they randomly sended people to camps without any registration. Therefore it can be a place to be, but maybe quite a restricted one.
