  • JRS Malta

    JRS Malta seeks to accompany, serve and defend the rights of asylum seekers and forcibly displaced persons who arrive in Malta. The team engages with people at different stages of their journey, often meeting people shortly after their arrival, and accompanying them as they navigate life in Malta.
    JRS regularly visits detention and open centers to provide basic information, mainly about the rights of asylum seekers, documentation, education, and employment. Furthermore, the team provides professional legal, social work, psychological and health care support to refugees in centers and the community. JRS Malta also advocates on behalf of refugees on a national level and runs awareness-raising programs in schools, Parishes, and various social groups.

    aditus foundation is a non-governmental organisation established in 2011 with a mission to monitor, report and act on access to human rights in Malta. Named for the Latin word for ‘access’, our work is focused on the attentive analysis of access to human rights recognition and enjoyment.
    Our work promotes a society where all persons are able to access and enjoy all their fundamental human rights, and access to justice and remedies should be provided in case of violations. Our focus is primarily Malta, but we also work towards highlighting the regional & international dimensions of human rights in Malta.

  • Moviment Graffitti

    Moviment Graffitti is a left-wing Maltese organisation set up in 1994. It is active against the oppression and exploitation of people, the environment and animals with a vision of freedom and radical democracy. We work on a number of issues affecting our lives and we strive to bring positive change by fighting for justice and equality. This is done in a number of ways: we carry out direct actions, organise protests and gatherings, build coalitions between different social forces and hold awareness-raising initiatives such as film-nights, talks and discussions.
    Moviment Graffitti is autonomous from any economic power or political party, but it regularly collaborates with other organisations that share its beliefs on specific issues. There are no hierarchies in the organisation and everybody’s voice is equal.
    Moviment Graffitti have a group that discusses, supports and mobilises on migrant-related issues.

    The Migrants Commission believes that hospitality can be achieved through encounters, education and peacebuilding. These underpin all our initiatives, actions, and services to promote communities that are welcoming, aware of and able to promote the rights of all migrants and refugees, while protecting and integrating whoever wants to make the Maltese Islands their home and seeks refuge here.

The Migrants’ Commission offers assistance to all migrants in Malta; and seeks to create spaces for dialogue and encounter, in schools, neighbourhoods and small communities to fight racism and xenophobia.

  • KOPIN

    KOPIN supports asylum seekers and refugees in Malta, by providing language training, educational support, job training, healthcare access, information sessions and other support.
    Over the years, they have provided a vast range of support services, such as language training, homework support to children, information sessions on housing, job finding and sanitation, social outings, focus groups on issues like gender-based violence or female genital mutilation, material health training, mentoring programmes for refugee women, fighting child trafficking and exploitation, computer training and food handling courses.
