There are many international, profit and non-governmental organizations working in this field providing different kinds of help to the refugees, asylum seekers and potential asylum seekers, providing food and clothes, first aid, legal advice etc. Among them are: The non-govermental organizations – Legis, NUN, Macedonian Young Lawyers Association, Regional Enterprise Support Center, La Strada - Open Gate, El Hilal, Value Partners (Dorcas Aid), People in Need, Solidarnost, Help the Refugees in Macedonia - RECS, HERA, Vlaznija, Merhamet, Kaliri, Mersih etc. and the Facebook group – Help the refugees in Macedonia. The international and profit organizations – UNHCR, UNICEF, UNFPA, IOM, Prokredit Banka and Prokredit Akademija, Detsko SOS Selo (through UNICEF).

    It is an initiative related to the volunteers from the Facebook group “Help the refugees in Macedonia”. They are supported by UNHCR through their partner RECS in providing more effective help to the refugees on the field, where the accent is put on providing food and water.

    HERA is an association for Health Education and Research. Their team of doctors provide medical help in the field of female reproductive health.

  • La Strada - Open Gate

    Is an association for action against violence and trafficking in human beings. At the reception centre near Macedonian-Greek border they provide emotional and psycho-social support, counselling to the mothers and families and organize activities like education, games, drawing etc for the children.

  • Legis

    Legis is a non-profit organization helping refugees that transit through Macedonia, by providing them with food packs, hygiene material, and first aid items. Legis also organises a wide variety of interactive games and workshops for refugee children and adults aimed at integration.
