In the UK, there are lots of people and organisations who can support you. Here are a few organisations you can contact. Check their websites too, as they often have lists of other services in the area you can access.

You can ask at any library to get a library card and use their computers and internet for free, regardless of your immigration status.

It is very difficult to find a lawyer! You might have to call lots of times. Keep calling !

JCWI – Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants
If you are in the UK without status and need legal advice, this group can help.

It is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 1pm. The helpline is confidential and advice is free. Calls cost up to 13p per minute from landlines, 3p to 55p from mobiles.

Local Organisations

London:
Lots of groups in London only support people staying in a certain borough or area. You often have to fill out a form before getting an appointment too, but this information will stay private and not be shared with the Home Office or any other groups.

Hackney Migrants Centre:
Advice for immigration and housing support
You must first fill out their online form to make an appointment

Praxis
Praxis have a helpline and drop in session once per month.
You can check on their website for the dates.
The centre starts at 9am, but it’s good to arrive there early so that they have time to talk with you.

Haringey Migrant Support Centre

Haringey Migrant Support Centre only help people who live in London.
You have to call them at 10am on certain dates to make the appointment.
You can find the dates to call them on their website.
They will not respond to your call at other times.

West London Welcome
You can refer yourself or a friend to West London Welcome if you live in Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, Ealing or Hounslow.
You must complete the form first.

Glasgow Unity Centre:
The Unity provides practical support and solidarity for migrants in Glasgow. They are open on Monday morning every week, and other times depending on availability. You can call them to ask.

They can help you with access to healthcare, signpost to solicitors, and access to English classes, as well as opportunities to join different groups and social spaces.
